1. Definition / Pengertian

  • English:
    A recount text is a text that retells past events or experiences. The purpose is to inform or to entertain the reader.

  • Indonesia:
    Recount text adalah teks yang menceritakan kembali peristiwa atau pengalaman yang sudah terjadi di masa lampau. Tujuannya adalah untuk memberi informasi atau menghibur pembaca.

2. Generic Structure / Struktur Teks

  1. Orientation / Orientasi

    • English: Introduces who, where, and when the events happened.

    • Indonesia: Mengenalkan siapa, di mana, dan kapan peristiwa itu terjadi.

  2. Events / Peristiwa

    • English: The sequence of events written chronologically.

    • Indonesia: Urutan peristiwa yang diceritakan secara kronologis.

  3. Re-orientation (optional) / Penutup (opsional)

    • English: A conclusion or personal comment about the events.

    • Indonesia: Kesimpulan atau komentar pribadi di akhir cerita.

3. Language Features / Ciri Kebahasaan

  • English:

    • Use of Past Tense (went, visited, saw, enjoyed).

    • Use of time connectives (first, then, after that, finally).

    • Specific participants (I, my family, my friends).

    • Descriptive words (beautiful, amazing, delicious).

  • Indonesia:

    • Menggunakan Past Tense (went, visited, saw, enjoyed).

    • Menggunakan kata sambung waktu (first, then, after that, finally).

    • Menggunakan subjek khusus (saya, keluarga saya, teman-teman saya).

    • Menggunakan kata sifat deskriptif (indah, menakjubkan, lezat).

My Holiday in Yogyakarta
(🎯 Liburan Saya di Yogyakarta)

  • English:
    Last year, I went to Yogyakarta with my friends. We stayed there for three days.

On the first day, we visited Borobudur Temple. It was very crowded, but we enjoyed the beautiful view. After that, we went to Malioboro Street to buy some souvenirs.

On the second day, we went to Parangtritis Beach. We played in the sand and took many pictures. The sunset was really amazing.

On the last day, we visited the Sultan Palace. We learned about Javanese culture and history.

It was an unforgettable trip, and I hope I can visit Yogyakarta again.

    Tahun lalu, saya pergi ke Yogyakarta bersama teman-teman saya. Kami tinggal di sana selama tiga hari.

Pada hari pertama, kami mengunjungi Candi Borobudur. Tempat itu sangat ramai, tetapi kami menikmati pemandangan yang indah. Setelah itu, kami pergi ke Jalan Malioboro untuk membeli beberapa oleh-oleh.

Pada hari kedua, kami pergi ke Pantai Parangtritis. Kami bermain di pasir dan mengambil banyak foto. Matahari terbenamnya sangat menakjubkan.

Pada hari terakhir, kami mengunjungi Keraton Yogyakarta. Kami belajar tentang budaya dan sejarah Jawa.

Itu adalah perjalanan yang tak terlupakan, dan saya berharap bisa mengunjungi Yogyakarta lagi.
